Having lately seen
The Last Unicorn and
Legend again, I'll state the obvious and proclaim that the unicorn as a natural metaphor without any additional cultural baggage represents the pride of freedom. More precisely the horse represents the freedom and the horn the pride. The cultural baggage is that of knighthood.
