Concerning the requiredness to believe

We feel requirements in three ways:
  • as the meaning of a desire,
  • the sense of a deed or
  • the urgency of a perception.
When we ask the question: What is required of our believing?, we must answer thus
  • what desire we fulfil,
  • what sense we make and
  • wherein we find its urgency.
I'll begin with the last point. The perception that leads a man to believe is his realisation that he depends on his expectation. Once he has understood that he understands as well the urgency to uncover his expectation in an environment that tells him what to expect in the greatest physical detail, but leaves out vitally important metaphysical questions. If you'd ask Wim Hof or Tom Sietas what motivated them to pick up their exercises they'd probably tell you just that, in the case of Prahlad Jani I wouldn't even ask.

In any case a man must come to believe out of his own volition, and I think that we see a natural resurrection of belief in an instinctive move to survive. And that answers the first point: The desire is that of survival in the face of artificial intelligence. Possibly it is even a desire to be a full human being again, to find one's divine connection.

So, lastly towards the question of sense. I've described the general role of prayer in great detail in the previous post and the immediate technique to form expectations in the post before. Those posts may thus serve believers as a basis to understand their prayers and expectations better, assuming that they manage to gather their meaning from the German. This itself can be seen as a natural occurrence: Believers creating a notional framework to understand themselves and their beliefs better. Up to this point the whole development resembles that of a game like football: People start playing it in different places and standards are being set up.

But in view of its historic urgency, believing cannot remain a game. It is necessary to define the objectives of our special situation and explain the ways in which prayer can serve them. For this, of course, I'm relying on the Apocalypse of John.

Whatever the outcome of my effort, there is now a chance for people of good will to evaluate each other's merit in theory and practice, orchestrate their efforts and move towards a common goal: the holiness of man.
