Steamboat Geyser's 44th eruption in the last 365 days
and the 51st eruption since March 15 last year. It happened for the second time now, but this time it doesn't depend on at what hour a day starts.
If Steamboat continues like this, this record will be broken several times starting in the second half of June until the end of August, but I figure that seasonal changes in the water supply are normal.
Last year's 32 eruptions were concentrated in the last nine months, so at that pace 43 or 44 eruptions per year is the new standard, which may or may not move up this year. In any case it's substantially higher than 29 eruptions per year.
