A bit more on the corona virus

I read Paul Garner a while back writing:
The illness ebbs and flows, but never goes away. Health professionals, employers, partners, and people with the disease need to know that this illness can last for weeks, and the long tail is not some “post-viral fatigue syndrome”—it is the disease. People who have a more protracted illness need help to understand and cope with the constantly shifting, bizarre symptoms, and their unpredictable course.
It seems the South China Morning Post has just given a scientific explanation for this:
Coronavirus uses same strategy as HIV to dodge immune response, Chinese study finds

Both viruses remove marker molecules on surface of an infected cell that are used to identify invaders, according to Chinese researchers
Three things:
  1. It certainly lends credibility to the hypothesis that the corona virus originated in a laboratory.
  2. While this explains why the disease resurfaces, it doesn't mean that the corona virus targets the immune system like HIV does.
  3. It is by now blatantly obvious that corona virus news are currently being considered items of warfare, released to influence the confidence of the public in its political leaders and economic future.
