Trump's Twitter Feed

This is what we're talking about: twitter.com/realDonaldTrump.

The purpose of this post is analysis, to observe what can be readily observed.

Estimating things, over time the impression has taken on shape in my mind that Trump's Twitter feed is one of the best contemporary news sources.

As far as I can see, this is for three reasons, ordered by increasing importance.
  1. When Trump brings up a talking point you get it there first, and the other news sources' responses are predictable and boring.
  2. When other news sources bring up a talking point, Trump's response will actually judge its merit, and even though you'll learn about it a little later, you do get its decisive turn first again.
  3. In all substantial matters other news sources offer constructive criticism at best, but it is patently obvious that in the confrontational setting that Trump has chosen for his presidency world events are being framed in Poker terms and in Poker terms Trump is the one calling and his opponents are the ones raising, and when Trump eventually sees he's in a weaker position, he'll adjust, while his opponents double down to the bitter end, and so it is little wonder that the eyes of the curious are on Trump.
The result of this is of course that decision makers in the US economy increasingly align themselves with Donald Trump, so that he's increasingly able to throw his weight around.

I can't deduce more so far, but it seems clear to me that Trump is successfully developing his platform.
