The idea of scripture
If God listens to our prayers, then it is at least in principle possible that our convictions become laws. And if they did, then we would all live in other people's concepts and hence it appears possible that we might pick up what their implications were. The convictions themselves are original scripture and their perceived implications derived scripture. Thus scripture would be a natural part of our relation with God and not a method of control seeking to undermine our creativity or initiative; rather, all of our own convictions have to prove themselves in comparison to those of our predecessors. Christ embraced the age of works and the Revelation picked up its cost and destination, its price and prize.
How many people though understand the idea of scripture, let alone believe in it?
