The rule of unreason
The previous post might seem inconsistent on the subject of the rule of unreason to those who don't have a firm grasp of the concept. I'll briefly clarify.
The rule of unreason comes into being by a desire to come to a better understanding, but all it does is to destroy the public respect for understanding. Hence many venues are being opened that, because of their long term consequences, were previously closed. Some people actually enjoy this, but many people consider it an unfortunate fact of life that forces them to alter their behaviour so that they may survive in this time.
On a side note: It is for this reason that the rule of unreason needs to demonstrate its power, that is so that people can see that they still need to alter their behaviour. For that reason Manhattan exists and for that reason it shall be destroyed.
These people who consider the rule of unreason an unfortunate fact of life might be considered reasonable, but in an immediate sense they are no more reasonable than a boxer is strong who gets pummelled against the ropes, that is they have to admit the inadequacy of their way of thinking. And hence they are inclined to give a negative mandate to their government to look after their national interest in these crazy times, and that is precisely what the French do.
