The corona virus as a tool for AIDS research?
Ever since I've written my last post on the corona virus, I wondered whether I should write about the possible research link between HIV and the corona virus, inherent in the fact that both viruses use the same mechanism to hide from the immune system until the time has come for a renewed spread.
I've read a research paper on the topic of recurring HIV release due to this mechanism and the immune system's response to it. I will refrain from quoting it, because I can't say that I really understood it. I did understand however that the long term health of an AIDS patient critically depends on the immune system's response, not his immediate health, but how long it will take until his condition eventually worsens.
So in order to prolong the life of AIDS patients, drugs need to be tested that regulate the immune system response to hidden, recurrently released viruses, and the corona virus falls into that category.
Then of course it is much more profitable to let people pay doctors to test on them than to let doctors pay people for that purpose, as you usually have to, if you want to conduct human experiments, concentration camps and the like notwithstanding.
Sadly, this is all too believable. So I want to get it off my chest. On the other hand, as I already mentioned in the previous post, news about the corona virus has become subject to warfare, so keep that in mind.
Different nations have responded quite differently to the virus, by the way. Germany essentially sweats it out while giving as little attention to it as possible, obviously putting its economy first. Britain on the other hand seems to be primarily interested in monitoring the effects of the disease - or even a whole range of unusual symptoms no matter what the cause.
It is rather problematic to sit back and let this all play out. We don't know what's going on and why and basic moral principles are at stake. The original DRUDGE:

What is COVID? Other than a collection of letters. And what the hell is going on in the United States? I can make sense of Germany's response and Britain's as well. But what kind of a response do we see in the United States? I'd bet that the American people are sick and tired of the politisation, not just of the corona virus, of a great many things, most likely. Yet, if that desire for common sense was to be exploited to cover up malfeasance, I wonder what would have been won. That ground wouldn't be just shaky, it'd be more like dried mud bubbles.
