Stopping the spread

If the most dangerous place to contract the corona virus is an enclosed space filled with strangers, then such places should be avoided.

Some of these places we visit by choice, e.g. restaurants, theatres, museums, others by necessity. So, what are those places we visit by necessity and how then can we avoid visiting them?

If we ask more generally what any living being has to do in order to survive the answer is to acquire food. We as human beings have organised our food acquisition in such a way that we get paid for our work and then use our salary to buy food.

Do we then, at our work, fill an enclosed space together with strangers? Fortunately, usually not. Do we do it, when we buy food? Usually yes. Do we do it in between? Possibly yes.

So, in order to solve the problem three measures will suffice.
  1. Stop all work that takes place in an enclosed space filled with strangers. If the work is necessary, reorganise it.
  2. Install common delivery services for local shops.
  3. Replace public transportation for employees with company shuttle busses. Possibly have larger companies pool their private jets and coordinate their travel schedules.
This may be more than what needs to be done, but it would allow production to continue at minimal risk for the workers and with very modest reorganisation of the work taking place.
