Inception (2010)

In the real world, we'd have to choose, but not here.
Makes you want to kill yourself, if there's nothing, nothing to force you on a larger journey than you dreamed of, huh?

What is larger than life?

There have been days on end, when I was too laid back to do a thing, and the feeling grew, that this is not real, until it was so sticky that I couldn't shake it off for days, although I had resumed physical labour, it was like a bowl over my head, that I'd forgotten how to get my head out of.

Our mind tells us what it has learned by distancing itself from the world that ceases to teach it, though the cause for that is always an abandonment in the first place, the abandonment of our own quest.

We stand and overlook all we've gathered, and there's the ever so slight temptation to shut us in, until our dreams close in on us and drive us out. We sense a choice to either be at ourselves or to be expelled into the world. And only through subserviency do we wake from this, being at ourselves in the world.

There's something sweet and fresh at every turn, no matter whereto we have climbed. There's the continuation of our path, there is our life.

The more you behold your journeying, the more thought you spend on its shape as opposed to yours. You've learned to anticipate your up and downs and start to put your faith in the shape that you pursue.

Inception isn't the bloodless movie that it's accused to be, the background has to be orderly, so as not to distract from the sentiments it evokes. How far does imitation lead us these days? How much life is to be had from following someone's example? So you walk into the cinema in order to be fed like a goose or filled like a car? How much life is there for you? At times life is a hunt, at times it's something else, right now it's a climb from pride, the humiliating replacement of assumption by experience. But God is good, and what we lose in euphoria, we win in stature.
